
Mural #2 - Mural Size: 11'x30'. Mural Depicts: Five scenes, including one Jefferson River scene adapted from a painting by Lee Rostad, commissioned in 1963 by the Hal Stearns family (Joe Kountz Ranch). The mural shows Lewis writing in his journal, Corps members hunting and Clark and his painful "turner" on his ankle.
Building History: Built in 1911 and housed the first car agency in Whitehall. Robert Tait bought the building in 1915, and it became Tait's garage. Tait is a former mayor of Whitehall. Building also housed a Fish, Wildlife & Parks sign shop.
